A Mass for Life

Andrew's life-long love of jazz and commitment to accessible sacred music has brought about his 'Mass for Life'. Scored for SATB choir and a jazz quintet of piano, double bass, drums, trumpet and sax, this piece delighted audiences and performers alike at its première performances in July 2011. In 2013, Andrew re-orchestrated the piece for full Big Band for a performance in Exeter Cathedral

Combining cool, latin and funk rhythms, the piece enables choirs to explore the jazz genre within the more familiar mass texts. CDs of the first performance are available to order.
